Single review from UK Music Search, June 2006.

Creating psychedelic post-rock in the vein of Mogwai and Sigur Ros, The Resistance are a Cambridge based band with a neat line in noisy guitars and pretty electronics.
The three songs that make up the bands latest release, make inroads towards post-rock and electronica; equal parts Mogwai, Boards Of Canada and the Aphex Twin at times. Opening track (Crossing the Road) With Your Eyes Closed is the most obvious and immediate of the set, a throbbing explosion of noisy guitars and pulsating bass lines; a song almost poppy in an apocalyptic post-rock kind of way. It's the electronic tilted Sleeping that provides the most interest here though, starting out with a Georgio Moroder styled eighties drum beat before launching into the kind of twisted electronica that will give Boards Of Canada a run for their money and something to start thinking about. Polar is a kind of meeting point between the two, shimmering guitar work rubbing shoulders with electro drum stabs; a moody and atmospheric parting shot.
As instrumental post-rock goes, The Resistance make for intelligent and
hypnotic listening; putting enough of a fresh edge on proceedings to keep things interesting and forward thinking throughout. With (Crossing the Road) With Your Eyes Closed, the band give you at least three atmospheric reasons why you should take them to your heart immediately.
